This is Take a Moodle with Me, writing about moodling and finding small pockets of time in your every day life to connect or reconnect with yourself.
The visceral pull of the breaking wave Drags me back and forth Like a dinghy at anchor
Waves crash uncomfortably against my torso I bend my knees and turn my back and welcome the wave as it falls over my neck and shoulders
I'm tugged off my feet Momentarily unshackled from the earth So freeing
Staying connected to the sea floor is onerous I allow my limbs to stretch out on top of the water Gaze at the vast blue sky And float Bobbing up and down As the waves roll in
There is no choice but to be here in this moment Connected to the rhythms of the ocean Exhaling
"For mere mortals, going to the beach is not a daily occurrence"
This comment made by a colleague recently made me realise how blessed I am to have the option of going to the beach for either a swim or a moodle, every day if I chose.
I am immensely grateful for that.
I deeply appreciate that.
Do you have something that is close to where you live, that you appreciate deeply?
The card art
My favourite colour palette appears again! A continuous line drawing in watercolour pencil, smudged with water - which turned out looking like trees. Fill-in colour added after using Caran d'Ache watercolour crayons. Details with various pens. This card is number 28 from the pack of 50 with the word “appreciate”.
Continuous line drawings remind me of the rhythms of nature for some reason.

I agree with your friend about going to the beach Debs, I have not seen a sea or an ocean in over eight years.... but this summer, I am determined to feel salty water on my skin and smell the sea air... I shall keep you posted ! X
