Bambloozon
A 100-word story set in Zee-Runty Fey - part of Fictional Moodling's "Summer of Magic" series
“There must be a way in, the map says there is!”
Frustrated, Bex makes her third circuit of the bamboo grove.
Imperceptibly, a whisper “Bambloozon” floats on the breeze. A squat, leafy-green passage is revealed. Ducking, she hurries through before it vanishes.
“Finally! Just as I expected, a perfectly green enclosure. But wait? … Thick, viloet coloured, theatre curtains?”
“Bambloozon … Bambloozon… Bambloozon…” reverberates like a beating drum.
The curtains part suddenly at the hands of two tiny fairies. Bex gasps, captivated - gazillions of fireflies undulate in a luminous magenta sky.
The fairies beckon her forward: “Bambloozon for you, Bex?”
Door 11 “Freeing the Light” by Jessica Dobson: The story of the door from Furzey Gardens website.
These two little fairies are pulling back the curtains on a hidden world and reveals a cloud of fireflies. Pinky purple glistening curtains pulled back by the two fairies in their own vibrant flowing dresses. Detailed wings and clothing (more than this initial design) with sprinkles of fairy dust surrounding them. A woodland in night-time Is hidden behind the curtain, dark but glowing from a hint of the moonlight and the firefly’s warmth.

This story is part of my Summer of Magic series made up mostly of 100-word stories inspired by by some of the Fairy Doors and structures we saw in the gardens. Join me as we journey around the magical realm of Zee-Runty Fey, which is criss-crossed by bewitching and enchanting connections and a host of characters, either depicted on the doors, or imagined. I’ll be sprinkling a large measure of fairy dust to transport us into a world of wonder, whimsy and imaginative possibility.
