Hello, dear Mappery Moodler!
I’m so very glad to be back here with you. If you’re new here, a big warm welcome. As you may know, writing a six word story a day is my creative project this year and is meant to encourage me to have as many ‘falling in love with life moments’ as I can. I’ve just realised that ‘falling in love with life moments’ is a six word story in itself!
My March is recorded in these four mini maps - weeks, 10 to 13. You can read all the stories in text form here. So far this year, I’ve written 91 of these tiny stories and I think I’m getting better at using my words!

March companion post: just the stories for the whole month
16 tiny six word stories + 4 words = 100 word story
Its Spring, and it’s always good to have a bit of a spring clean. This month, I am doing something different with my 6 word stories. Rather than just giving you a glimpse of them in the maps, I decided to write a 100 word story that is a compilation of 16 smaller six word stories written between March and April.
But!
Before you read the 100 word story, I want to share something else that is really exciting and which got me quite fired up this month.
Are you ready?
I wrote a piece for
Your Words, Gifted, based on one of their 10 values of The Encouragement Manifesto. Mine came under the “Stay Optimistic” value. Here’s the preamble from Feasts and Fables:
It can be hard sometimes to see the positives. We question if our life has followed the path we thought it might - does it ever? - the world around us can be frictional and wearing. Occasionally, we slip into only focusing on the downsides, the ‘glass half empty’.
But what happens when we tip that on its head?
What happens when we drink from the glass marked ‘half full’ and deliberately set an intention to put a new way of looking at life into practice?
Debs Stott has done exactly that. She is seeking out new ways to love her life by finding and celebrating things that light a fire in her.

And do let us know what you think!
Now, that 100 word story …
I’m alone
Except that I’m not
Nature fills my senses
Keeps me company
I’ve added 4 words to the beginning of the piece to make up 100 words!

Falling in love with…
Butterflies, bumble bees, light and warmth.
Bunnies find safety in privet hedges.
Fresh garden daffodils - bringing Spring inside.
Rafts of rabbits, robins, rain clouds.
Thick, mossy grass. Barefoot, grounding moments.
🐝
Communing with silver birches and forget-me-nots.
Iridescent lime green silver birch woodlands.
The vibrant, green smorgasbord surrounding me.
🟢
Days that nurture “space between things”
Delighting in a stolen afternoon nap.
When things flow together = taking time.
⏳
Celebrating light by catching falling shadows.
Bright sunlight forming striking, strong shadows.
Capturing a unique shadow selfie series.
Sunlight kissing the swaying tree tops.
Transitory sunbeams illuminating an ornate hedge.

This months stories and maps in maps
As always, here’s a summary of the hand drawn maps I use to capture my daily six word stories.
Ending off, I’d love to know if you also do extended projects and what attracts you to them. Alternatively, try your hand a a six word comment! Or just leave me a ❤️ to say hi!

Other Mappery things to explore
Inspired by Hemingway's famous six-word tale, "For sale: baby shoes, never worn,” the "six word story" has served as a prompt for both writers and photographers for many years. For examples visit Six Word Stories
