Infinity and Beyond
A 100-word story set in Zee-Runty Fey - part of Fictional Moodling's The Summer of Magic series
Dabelle pushes Heaven’s Gate. It creaks open into a dark space. A beam of light funnels into the darkness through a circular portal in the roof.
Within seconds, an ethereal, shimmering staircase stretching from the portal to her feet fills the space where the light was. Unhesitatingly, she stands on the first step and is propelled into the stars by the magical travelator.
Earthly time, gravity and objects evaporate in infinity and beyond. She floats effortlessly in the ebony universe, aware of glittery galaxies and stars, giving little thought of how she will return to Earth.
Aah, a magic portal!

This story is part of my Summer of Magic series made up mostly of 100-word stories inspired by by some of the Fairy Doors and structures we saw in the gardens. Join me as we journey around the magical realm of Zee-Runty Fey, which is criss-crossed by bewitching and enchanting connections and a host of characters, either depicted on the doors, or imagined. I’ll be sprinkling a large measure of fairy dust to transport us into a world of wonder, whimsy and imaginative possibility.
