Hoping your mojo returns soon. The 100-word tale was excellent.
Here's my crazy thoughts:
1. Every day for a week, write 100 words a day on the things that bring you joy, that refill your cup. Maybe finding new ways to talk about them will kickstart a re-engagement with the 7 things you choose?
2. Pick 3 people from your contacts and get in touch with them - ask how they're doing ... see if there's anything you can do to help or encourage them. Nudge the focus away from you ... fill someone else's cup and it is almost guaranteed to fill your own too.
Oh my goodness - what wonderfully different ideas! I really, really like number 1 - and might just give it a try! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the positivity!
And if they don't work, I am opening up a couple of Encouragement Sessions the week after next and I'd be delighted to throw in some more positivity ... it's a handful of tangfastics for the soul!
I'll be sure to remind you over here ... we have friends staying next week; a couple of van lifers overlapping and some bike makers who'll be encouraging us to invest in new bikes! But pretty confident there'll be a window 25-28 July when I can offer 2 or 3 Sessions. No pressure. They're free at the point of use, by the by. Just my teeny way of popping something good into the world.
Sounds perfect and I hope to take you up on a session, that is so generous. It's the last week of my working contract, so work may be busy, but hopefully I can find a slot to fill my cup!
Not sure I have a cup as such as when life has 'got to me' I use my daily journal to set down my worries, fears, guilt and other dark thoughts ( I do have lots of good thoughts in there too!) But in those downtimes I find committing such feelings to paper helps put them into context and frees my mind to think things through and decide whether I might do something or choose to do nothing. So it's not a cup but over the decades my journal has at times been the rock I sit on (or sometimes cling too) amongst raging seas.
Hello Harry. Thank you for you for sharing how you deal with these things! I agree with you about journaling and it has really helped me in the past - with emotional stuff and making tough decisions. I've tried a few times in the last weeks to write in mine, but I keep staring at the blank page. Maybe, if I use it to do as suggested by @FeastsandFables below, it might kick start the journaling practice for me. I'll let you know how it goes.
Do so, I write in mine everyday and while I don't force it I always write something. Sometimes it's trivia, or the weather or how the garden looks and that's fine and sometimes the trivia develops into something I clearly needed to get down on paper. I almost let my fountain pen and mind do their own thing. Different for everyone though. Whatever works best for you.
It is so strange that I cannot find comfort in the writing - I wrote Julia Cameron's Morning Pages for well on three years and they were so therapeutic. I miss that. Anyway, I will come at it from a different angle ... 😀
Debs I know this ‘mojo says no’ feeling so well and this week is no exception, it would be cruel of me to go into detail so suffice to say, roll on next Monday..! You know what I mean lovely... I feel bad, guilty even but this is horrible!
My cup was full on Friday last... beautifully, joyfully and inspiringly so... now it is empty and I’m just counting hours for the refill... there we go too, the ‘re’ word..!
I do know what you refer to, and sorry to hear it has emptied your cup! So roll on next Monday. Loved your Instagram photo yesterday - let's hope there's lots more of those (and 100-word story collabs) to come, when your cup refills. Take care and breathe deeply. 🥰

Hiya. Where will you announce those sessions - just in case! 😀

Monday 31st is also a possibility ... see what works for you, Debs. As I say, no pressure ("pressure is for tyres" as JoJo's mum says)
