Welcome and hello, dear Mappery Moodler!
Its Debs here, back with you for another instalment of six word stories. If you’re new here, a big warm welcome. I’m writing a six word story a day as my 365 creative project this year and the project is meant to encourage me to have as many ‘falling in love with life moments’ as I can. I’ve just realised that ‘falling in love with life moments’ is a six word story in itself!
My April is recorded in these five mini maps - weeks 14 to 18 (you get a smidge of May too). You can read all the stories in text form here. So far this year, I’ve written 121 of these tiny stories and I think I’m getting better at using my words!

April companion post: just the stories for the whole month
A 150 word story from 25 tiny six word stories
Last month, I created a 100 word story by stringing 16 tiny six word stories together and I quite like how it turned out. It felt like a poem of sorts and naturally fell into the theme of Falling In Love With…
So I’m carrying on that idea this month with 25 six word stories stitched together that I wrote in April. Some of the little stories are daily ones recorded on my maps, others are ones I’ve mined from my journal.
Writing is key to my awakening
I am space that needs attention
—
The sky is heavy and smothering
The weight of unexpressed grief, emotion
A vast expanse, taking up space
Energy evades me in this moment
The week ahead feels lumpy, bitty
Protecting my energies is my boundary
Pull of tiredness behind my eyes
The heaviness of Mondays goes away
Sense of anticipation in my tummy
—
I’ve swum 5 times this week
Solitude. Something creative: Art? Writing? Moodling?
A moodle doesn't have a destination
Relaxed mornings, sitting in the sun
Fresh air, warmth, light, defined shadows
The moving shadow of my pen
Sunshine warming right side of face
Ill defined morning shadows on footstool
Hello feet, welcome to warmer weather
Feel of soft carpet pile underfoot
Levels and layers of bird calls
Clusters of white daisies on roadside
—
A book bristling with sticky notes
A trip down creativity memory lane
Writing is key to my awakening
I am space that needs attention
This months stories and maps in maps
As always, here’s a summary of the hand drawn maps I use to capture my daily six word stories.
Ending off, I’d love to know if you also do extended projects and what attracts you to them. Alternatively, try your hand a a six word comment! Or just leave me a ❤️ to say hi!

Other Mappery things to explore
Inspired by Hemingway's famous six-word tale, "For sale: baby shoes, never worn,” the "six word story" has served as a prompt for both writers and photographers for many years. For examples visit Six Word Stories
