Although I’m all about maps, I also live a life. I document that living in a unique way. I capture the moments I connect with. Welcome to my fortnightly "adornments" where I share some of that life.
Debs that was so hard to choose, all of your maps were fabulous! I can’t quite believe the work you’ve put into this idea lovely... I’m in awe of everything... 💞
And your photos are beautiful, I have to download every week or there’s no space left on the SD card...🙈🧡
Well.. I've journalled a bit and this is what came up so far:
1. I want to feel empowered because I'm earning money from my own endeavours - everything I do is for me, not a boss or organisation
2. But I'm still in the apologising space, embarrassed and some level of imposter syndrome is evident
3. This is holding me back from taking up space. All my life, I've been so good at hiding and have made strides in other aspects of my life but in the space where I need to get paid? Hmmm...
4. Ongoing conversations with friends are helping me to recognise my value from a financial point of view, but it's slow progress.
These are beautiful reflections Debs, thank you for sharing them! Being aware of old patterns and stories is such an important first step without which we can never make change. Approaching this in terms of mini-steps can be helpful: what could be a really small way in which you could take up financial space this week? It might be having a conversation; changing how you communicate with clients/customers; taking a first and gentle look at what you could practically do in coming months to raise your prices etc.
I started reading Bari Tessler's book The Art of Money last week: it's very much embodiment and feeling-based and it's been great so far in addressing those sticky and old feelings around money. I'm only about a third through but can very much recommend it!
Ooh, I love me a book recommendation - I will check it out. And thank you for the ideas. I'll have a ponder. It is so good to talk to others about this, I'm grateful that you opened up the space and that you and I are talking further. 🙂

Thank you for the shoutout Debs!
My pleasure - your piece had a profound influence on my thinking!
I’m glad and I’d love to hear more about what comes out of that thinking ✨

You're very welcome Debs, I enjoy these kinds of conversations too!
