"Disequilibrium." I'm familiar with that feeling. In the creative journeys I've seen writers taking, and for the one I've been on myself, which I'm documenting for a book, I use the phrase "inner disquiet" to describe that conflicting state creatives often find themselves in when they are strongly desiring or being urged from within to write and yet they are not... for a long list of reasons. It sets up this unsettled, imbalanced, wonky state that's another flavor of disequilibrium. Your maps are fascinating and I'm noodling about how they could be a part of my creative process/practice.

Gosh, yes, what a way to describe it. Love the idea of a "wonky" state! And I'm over the moon to hear you're wondering how my maps could fit into your process. I'd love to hear how you get on. I'm finding them invaluable for clearing my mind! Let me know if you want to chat further, brainstorm or anything.

Ah! I no longer have an active license, so I'm not hosting circles any longer. But it was an amazing experience!

It must have been the phase of the moon Debs!! I had a completely disoriented week last week too... it was chaos from beginning to end and by Friday night I was ‘bouleversée’ as we say here..! Fit for nothing, not even coherent conversation..!

I do hope this week is calmer for you, so far so good here but it’s only Monday morning so there’s time yet..!

Obviously I need a map..! X

Oh, it helps to know others were feeling the chaos too! Love that French word, although no idea to say it! Might adopt it as a thing! 😂 You do need a map! 😊

Thé word is pronounced ‘book-vair-say’ with the ‘r’ being very guttural, isn’t it fabulous!! X

I love this. Have just found you here via Susie's substack. Thank you for sharing your wonderful art and ideas.

"Poking around in the dark fog of disequilibrium". Such a good phrase. I have been using the word "discombobulated" a lot lately. Just saying the word seems to bring ease and a bit of fun and joy to the situation!

Happy Christmas from New Zealand.

I love the word discombobulated, it just rolls off the tongue and is one of those words that just matches what it describes!
