The Cabinet of Resources
A look inside the organised map library, where personal mapping resources will be organised and accessed
This is a Sunday Pocket Note
What are Sunday Pocket Notes? Spontaneous small drops of light-hearted curiosity. A piece of art, a map, a moodle, an image or a tiny reflection that slips lazily into your day. Sometimes playful, thoughtful, or lightly mischievous. I might invite you to look a little closer, follow a small thread, or step into a wider landscape that’s been taking shape in the background by laying a few things out in ways that make more sense over time.
The Kumapelo space is coming soon
Kumapelo is a practice-led space for personal mapping
This is where maps can be made from our lived experiences
In Kumapelo, maps are our visual companions, story keepers, and invitations to reflect on our lives and often to dig deep in a visual way
In Kumapelo, mapping is our primary practice
Inside the Map Room, there’s a Cabinet
This is the map library within Kumapelo, a place where map resources are gathered and organised, so that you can find what you need quickly without endless searching.
The Cabinet is for those times when you want a little more structure than the open map room provides. With the intention of reducing noise and overwhelm, you’ll find shelves with named cards and brief details how each resource can be used. Step-by-step personal mapping journeys sit beside other mapping resources. Each resource is linked: some to free pieces, others to paid options that offer deeper dives.
Presence not pressure
This space is designed so you can come back whenever you want: when you feel scattered, when you want to pick up a thread you’ve left before or when you need support to work with images, words, and maps at your own pace.
For now, I’d love to know what you think of this idea and whether you’d be interested in this kind of space to moodle with maps! I’ll see you next Sunday.
Looking for updates from my studio?
The Moodling Letter is where I share what I’m working on - from photography and mixed media pieces to hand-drawn maps - along with invitations to exhibitions, open studio days, and workshops (both in-person and online) where you can experience or take part in the process.
