The Visual Memoir / Personal Atlas

I haven’t decided what this journey will be called yet - maybe it will become clearer as we move forward. For now, it is simply Journey Two. This reflects the unknow elements of this journey. I do not know what the atlas will look like, what maps it will contain or how long it will take for us to build it.

All I know is that it will be “a thing”.

2024 Six word story project

Writing a six word story a day is my creative project for 2024 and is meant to encourage me to have as many ‘falling in love with life moments’ as I can. I’ve just realised that ‘falling in love with life moments’ is a six word story in itself!

I wrote a related piece for

Your Words, Gifted, based on one of their 10 values of The Encouragement Manifesto. Mine came under the “Stay Optimistic” value and it’s about how I’m attempting to have and capture these small moments. Here’s the link to Fall in Love With Your Life

Monthly six word story posts

Each month I write send out two letters: a piece that shows images of the tiny maps I use to record the stories on and a companion piece which is simply the stories themselves, for easier reading (linked in the main post). The stories are separated into weeks, which is how I record them on the mini maps.

The details about this journey:

  • The invitation here is to be intimately involved in how I create my visual memoir. I anticipate it will be a journey of discovery.

  • In the early stages, the maps and stories will be shared to free subscribers as people get to see what it is we are building here.

  • Download this free fun zine-based freebie. Full details of how to use it are in the download.

  • This journey is more personal to me and will be mostly behind a paywall.

  • Paid subscribers get access to occasional behind the scenes snippets (videos etc), and hints and tips for creating their own personal maps, as well as some prompts to help you delve deeper into mapping your own journey.

  • This journey may involve guest writers and mappers.
